Transferring Tickets
Transfer Vega tickets to someone else when the organizer allows it: steps in My Tickets, claim email for the recipient, and transfer deadlines.
Cannot make it to an event? If the organizer allows ticket transfers, you can send your ticket to someone else instead of letting it go to waste.
Prerequisites
- The event organizer must have enabled ticket transfers for the event.
- You must be within the transfer window (some events set a deadline before the event start time).
- You need the recipient’s name and email address.
How to Transfer a Ticket
- Go to My Tickets in your Vega dashboard.
- Find the ticket you want to transfer and click Transfer.
- Enter the recipient’s name and email address.
- Confirm the transfer.
What Happens Next
- The recipient receives an email with a link to claim the ticket.
- Once claimed, a new ticket with the recipient’s name and a new QR code is generated.
- Your original ticket is voided and will no longer work for check-in.
- You receive a confirmation email that the transfer is complete.
Pending Transfers
If the recipient has not yet claimed the ticket:
- The transfer shows as Pending in your dashboard.
- You can cancel the transfer at any time before it is claimed, which restores the ticket to your account.
Receiving a Transferred Ticket
If someone transfers a ticket to you:
- Check your email for a transfer notification from Vega.
- Click the Claim Ticket link in the email.
- Sign in or create a Vega account (or proceed as a guest if supported).
- The ticket appears in your dashboard, ready for use.
Tips
- Initiate transfers early – do not wait until the last minute, as some events close transfers hours before the start time.
- Verify the recipient’s email address carefully; transfers sent to the wrong address can cause complications.
- Transferred tickets may not be eligible for refunds, depending on the organizer’s policy.
